AFAIK, Steve, you just have to make a center hole and a hole for the drive
pin in the right position.  You use the non-emulsion side, I think, but then
again, the emulsion side may be the better of the two because it would be
softer.   You need large sheets of film, like for chest X rays.  I've never
inquired at Hospitals to see what they do with bad shots etc.  I've seen and
heard, via the net, recordings made on the film though.  They did it a lot
in Russia where the 'right' stuff was not available.

Yes, thanks Ron, that's the idea.  I recovered lots of 78s my Dad recorded
in the early 40s and am fascinated with the possibility of recording on some
myself.  I've seen a couple of the recorders on ebay lately, but didn't know
if there was a source for blanks to record on.

Can you recommend a book or article describing how to make them?
