I have a nice art-case Cheney console, mahogany and gold. To fill the large central horn chamber the trunk splits and becomes TWO wood "tone chambers". I'll admit it isn't a high volume response, but still has a nice tone quality and the jewel point copes quite well with Diamond Discs. What impresses me about Cheney machines is their sheer quality of construction. NO pot metal at all. The motor on mine is very quiet and constructed with what appears to be a polished aluminum alloy frame. I've seen some Cheney cabinets that are clunky, but never cheaply built. Eric, Do you have the deluxe console with the gold hardware? These are very nice. Steve _______________________________________________ Phono-L mailing list http://phono-l.oldcrank.org
