Hi,I recently received my February MAPS in the groove, as I mailed my payment in late. I was very interested in Steve Ramm's review of Ken's book and CD as I actually got to see something before Steve wrote about it. I like Steve Ramm's column because you see things you don't see reviewed elsewhere and I now own some very nice sound items that I would not have known about otherwise. Lew Green, son of the Green Bros is making CD's of both new and old music, and thanks to Steve I was able to own some of Lew's CD's and I actually met Lew twice at the Orlando show. The interview he did with Ruth Etting was wonderful, it was my favorite. It was amazing to see a photo of Ruth signed to Steve Ramm. As I suspected my note about Ken's book did not campare to Steve's article on it, he noted that the book was also a clever CD holder and gave intersting details. There is a lot of sound out there, for example the early Betty Boop set of 7 includes performances on Volume 2 of Louis Armstrong, Cab Calloway, Rudy Vallee, and Ethel Merman. There are many ways to get more enjoyment out of the hobby and Steve is a great help. He is one of the reasons being a MAPS member is well worth the dues.Best wishes,Steve M (I wish I could write as well as the other Steve)
