Jeff, I remember that quote as a kid when I drove an early MGB-GT. Not only did the Brits have Lucas Fridges, but I once had a T-Shirt procalaiming Lucas as "The Prince of Darkness" . Later in life I bought a Triumph TR-8, which I thought was the ultimate car. It was lightweight, had an American based V-8. Sounds like a 1980's Carroll Shelby at work, similar to the the famed Sunbeam Tiger? WRONG!!! That car was certainly not on my Top-10 list. Sorry, folks, but I am sticking with my vintage American iron (and fiberglass) 1966 Corvette for now. I moved to Florida in 1973 fresh out of high school in a "REAL" 1967 Shelby Mustang GT-350. This was not one of today's "Resto-Mods", not a "Tribute", not an "Eleanor", but the real deal. If only............... Hope everyone had a great "4th", Joe Filer > > From: "Jeffry Young, D.O." <jeffryy at prevea.com> > Date: 2007/07/08 Sun PM 07:58:06 EST > To: "Antique Phonograph List" <phono-l at oldcrank.org> > Subject: RE: [Phono-L] OT-vintage car > > The Brit car enthusiasts will like this one!
