Make sure the spinning parts, like motor and intervening wheels spin freely. If you need to fix the idler wheel and you have access to a lathe and toolpost grinder, you can remove the old rubber, pop on an appropriately sized O ring and use the grinder to make a flat edge to the O ring while the wheel spins in the lathe. My father would really love to get his old Magnovox to play better. The turntable's speed seems to vary a little. I was able to get to the drive wheel and the surface seemed a bit hard. If I remember they should be softer to grab the turntable better. Any help would be appreciated.
