Hello Friends; Quite a discussion you've gotten going. If the group is opened up with no restrictions, we will have theads of 1964 Voice-Of-Music capacitors and speakers and everything else. The Antique phonograph discussions we now appreciate will possibly become overwhelmed by the Electrola crowd. I have seen this happen in Antique Automobile and Country Music associations that have thrown open their boundaries and as a result, the new overtakes the old and the true "Antique" collectors fall away. I don't know if the Phonograph Collecting hobby has been categorized or not. Here are my suggestions.... ANTIQUE: Any non-electric phonograph, gramophone or other talking machine. VINTAGE: Any semi-electric phonograph, gramophone or other talking machine. Including the early Radio-Phonographs including the Edison long-play. VETERAN: Any fully electric phonograph up to and including the year 1950. SPECIAL INTEREST: Juke Boxes, Panorams, early theater sound systems utilizing phonograph records, Westinghouse, GE and other early long-play machines. Just a thought for discussion. I'm selfish, I don't want to wade through a ton of new Electrola items every day. P.S. I am a member of Electrola. Rick A.
